Katherine Jetter’s Little ACK Book

Katherine Jetter jewelry designer and founder of The Vault Nantucket

Stepping into The Vault Nantucket is like entering another world: a globally-influenced, gem-filled world where color is queen, better known as Katherine Jetter’s world. As the founder of the jewel box of a boutique on Centre Street and jewelry designer herself, Jetter brings a curation of couture design to the island, sharing her passion for exquisite gems and artistry with visitors and locals alike.

Jetter’s journey to becoming a Nantucket community cornerstone began long before she set foot on island. A Graduate Diamond and Colored Gemstone Gemologist from the GIA, Jetter launched her eponymous jewelry collection in 2008. Her talent was quickly recognized with a nomination for a Design Award at Couture, the industry's premier jewelry event, leading to partnerships with major retailers like Saks and Neiman Marcus. After years of growing her collection, Jetter opened The Vault Nantucket in 2017, driven by a desire to share her love for curated, high-quality jewelry.

Nantucket, with its undeniable allure and tight-knit community, became Jetter's unexpected haven and the perfect backdrop for her entrepreneurial spirit. What began as a happenstance move evolved into a deep connection with the island. "Anyone who has been to Nantucket understands how magical it is," Jetter says. "There is something incredibly special about stepping off the ferry and breathing in the sea air that just makes you feel alive." The island's innate beauty constantly inspires her work, providing a sense of safety and happiness that fuels her creativity.

As The Vault embarks on its ninth season, Jetter and her "small but mighty team" are gearing up for a season packed with highly anticipated events, trunk shows, collection debuts, and more. One highlight includes an exclusive, Nantucket-inspired collaboration with acclaimed Brazilian artist Silvia Furmanovich, debuting at Nantucket by Design on July 14th. This collection will feature jewelry, clutches, and handcrafted Nantucket woven baskets, all showcasing island flora like hydrangeas and ponderosas rendered in Silvia's signature marquetry with 18K yellow gold and vivid gemstones.

Looking ahead, Katherine's goal for The Vault remains clear: "to just continue bringing joy and light into our clients’ lives by way of our jewelry collections." She aims to excite people about couture jewelry, sharing her passion for color and the unexpected in jewels and gemstones, all while balancing her thriving business with precious time for family and friends.
